In the last edition of Embark, we updated you on some of the changes that will affect skiing venues in the Adirondacks.

Here a few more updates from some areas that we didn\'t write about last time.

Gore Mountain

For the first time in 50 years, there will be a ski train to North Creek, home of Gore Mountain.

Called the North Country Ski and Snow Train, this passenger train will start in Saratoga Springs, then meander through the mountains for more than two hours before arriving in North Creek.

Owned by Iowa Pacific Holdings, LLC, the train was scheduled to begin in late December.

The idea of the ski train dates back to the era of the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid, when the ski train to Gore first serviced the area.
