Lake Placid boys soccer team looking to improve in 2008

LAKE PLACID — After finishing with a 7-10-2 mark a season ago, the Lake Placid boys soccer team will be looking to improve its record in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. Under coach Brendan Gotham, eight seniors, 10 juniors and two sophomores are hoping to be competitive in a strong conference and improve during the season in preparation for a successful playoff run. In order to be successful, Lake Placid will have to fill in some gaps left by key players who have graduated or moved on to prep schools. Two impact players who graduated from the 2007 team are Dylan Duffy and Mike Gorbenko, and players transferring to other schools were scoring threat Lars Johnson (Colorado), along with Jack Nardiello (Northwood) and Marcus Moles (Vancouver, Canada). Gotham said that Tim Reid, Andrew Bliss, Sean Dennin and Mike Clark will provide the Blue Bombers with senior leadership as they all return for their third season at the varsity level. “Those are four important guys for
